Cancel Culture Laid Bare

Cancel culture: a not so slow digression and in many ways a regression into a rabbit hole reeling in an alternate reality and laced in seemingly psychedelic visions of what should be by those who are tripping in their own odious refuge, or rather refuse.

To me, that purports to align with Dr. Henry Cloud’s quote that, “We live in a culture of blame. People will blame anyone or anything for their misery sooner than take the responsibility to own it and make it better.”

I am trying to figure out what to say and just how to say it. I wonder why – let alone how – someone can attack, bruise, and go so far as to violate another person’s living rights, freedom rights.  How can someone expect to be recognized, admired, and commended for and respected for their beliefs, traditions, ethnicity and the like when they themselves denigrate, humiliate, and lay siege to – in all too many cases – others for the very things, ideals and demands that they are allegedly claiming for themselves.

Cancel culture is promulgated and further frenzied by and through the megalomania and arrogantly held reins of the small minded, self-infused social-media’d figureheads.  Individuals who maybe in their beginnings -at one point – wanted to create open on-line venues for anyone and everyone to speak their minds, share their thoughts, and to feel free to be open and honest in their social communicating.  No exclusivity, no threats of brandishing ostracism, no ex-communicating, if you will.  That was in the beginning.

Cancel culture has ostensibly become a growing popular culture. An insidious growth finely expressed in P.J. O’Rourke’s words, “Popular culture has become engorged, broadening and thickening until it’s the only culture anyone notices.”  That is a frightening thought!

“The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people (author Unknown).”  That is accentuated in Mahatma Ghandhi’s words, “A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.”

But what happens if, when, the hearts and soul of its people are stolen.
